VARIATIONS
Every effort is made to display images of items with accuracy of colour, shape and size. Sometimes these factors are out of our control due to many items being made from natural products. If any item turns out to be of a different size or colour to that expected you are of course free to return it to us under the normal terms of our online returns policy (details below).
PRICES AND AVAILABILITY
Prices are subject to change without notice.
We reserve the right to refuse orders where product information has been mis-published, including prices and promotions.
Goods are subject to availability. As there is a delay between the order being placed and when the order is accepted, the stock position relating to particular items may change. If an item you have ordered goes out of stock before we accept the order, we will notify you as soon as possible and you will not be charged for the out of stock items.
Once an order has been accepted, you will receive written confirmation of your purchase.
CREDIT CARD SECURITY
Credit card transactions are carried out for us via SecureTrading – the UK’s leading independent payment processor. They provide the most reliable payment processing available with customer service that is second to none.
We do not see any of your credit card details or bank information. SecureTrading verify your card and address details on our behalf and then authorises the sale to us. For more information vist the SecureTrading website at www.securetrading.com.
Argenteus is an acredited Safebuy merchant. Safebuy protects online customers by imposing very strict requirments on all websites approved by their scheme. For more infromation click on our Safebuy seal to verify our credentials.
OTHER FORMS OF PAYMENT
At present we are only able to handle credit card orders directly via our website. Payment by other methods will be available soon, including collect from store and payment via gift vouchers.
In the meantime, if you do not wish to use your credit card online you can contact us directly with your order by phone, fax or Email, quoting the product codes shown in the online shop. Payment can then be made by credit card, debit card, cheque or by Argenteus Gift Vouchers.
Purchases made by post and paid for by cheque will be despatched after the cheque has cleared. Please allow up to 3 extra days for delivery in these cases.
HALLMARKS
Argenteus is registered with the Birmingham Assay Office. All items exceeding the statutory weight bear the British Hallmark which guarantees the quality and fineness of the metal used. Additionally, most designer pieces and some more expensive items are hallmarked as a matter of course even if they do not legally require it. Unless otherwise stated in the descriptions all items sold in our online store are made principally of Sterling Silver and Gold.
VAT
All the prices shown in our online shop are INCLUDING VAT.
Purchases made outside the EU cannot at the moment be exempted from UK VAT charges. We will include this option as soon as possible. Please contact us if you require more information. In some cases we may be able to arrange a separate refund of UK VAT for non-EU purchasers.
You will see a full breakdown of all charges (including carriage costs where applicable) and you will receive a full VAT invoice with your purchase if made from within the European Union.

RETURNS
We want you to be entirely happy with your purchase from Argenteus online. However, in the unlikely event that you are not 100% delighted, simply contact us within 14 days* of delivery for a returns form which can be sent to you by normal post or via email. All returns must be accompanied by this form once it has been completed. Please do not return any item to us without this form.
*At Christmas and other key times of the year these return time limits may be extended. See our website at these times for full details.
You can return your purchase directly to us for a refund or an exchange or you can visit one of our high street stores to exchange your purchase for something more suitable. Please note that our stores can only exchange items purchased online. If you would prefer a refund this must be handled directly through our customer services department.
The item must be undamaged, unworn and in the original, undamaged gift wrapping and returned to us by the method shown on the returns form. Follow the link to see full details of our returns procedure. We cannot accept liability for items damaged or lost in transit due to inadequate packaging or sent by an inappropriate carriage method.
We will be happy to refund the full purchase price or exchange the item for any other in our online shop. We will also refund your returns postal charges in line with the guidelines detailed on the returns form. This will be added as a credit against an exchange or refunded to your credit card. If your purchase was paid for by cheque you will receive any payment due by cheque from us. All other refunds will be made using the same method of payment you used in the original purchase.
These terms apply to online purchases ONLY. For details of our in store returns policies see the sign in each store, call customer services, or speak to staff at the time of purchase.
Returning items from within the UK
Return items to us using only the method of postage shown on your returns form. You will be refunded the full cost of postage to us* It is very important to ensure you retain the postage proof given to you by the post office. This will be vital in the event the item is lost in transit to us. The full cost of return postage will be added to any refund issued when the item is received by us*. In the event of an exchange of a UK delivered order you will be sent a cheque in favour of your postal costs to us or a refund of this amount will be credited to your card.
* Please note that our total returns post refund will be subject to the limits of our normal outgoing carriage charges as detailed on the returns form enclosed with your purchase. If you need to use other more costly methods please contact us prior to returning the item, as we may make our own arrangements for collection.
If you live near one of our stores you can return your purchase personally. You can then choose to exchange the item or ask for a full refund under the terms of our Internet store guarantee. In the event of a refund request you will be given a receipt by one of our store staff and the refund will be issued from our Head Office using the same method of payment that you originally used online.
Please read the terms of our returns guarantee before returning any purchase to us. If you have any doubts about the correct method of returning your purchase please contact us for further advice prior to sending it.
Returning items from outside the UK
Except by special arrangement, returns from outside the UK will only be accepted for the purposes of a refund. If you wish to exchange any item, you should contact our customer services department to discuss the procedure if this option is available.
Customers from outside the UK are fully responsible for ensuring that the method of carriage used is appropriate and that the package is insured for loss or damage to the contents. Whilst we will assist you in any reasonable way possible to recover the loss from the carriage company used, Argenteus Jewellery Ltd cannot accept any direct responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit to us from outside the UK.
The cost of returns carriage from outside the UK is the responsibility of the customer and will not be included with any refund made against an unwanted purchase
Returns restrictions
In the case of all earrings for pierced ears or body jewellery, your purchase will be supplied in a sealed clear plastic tamper evident bag. You will be able to clearly see the item(s) and examine them WITHOUT REMOVING THEM FROM THE BAG. Unless they are found to be faulty, we are unable to accept these items for return or refund if they are removed from the bag or the bag shows evidence of tampering. This is for your and other customers protection on the grounds of hygiene and health. If you need any more information on such purchases please contact us BEFORE TAMPERING WITH THE BAG.
Specially commissioned items or rings made outside the size range stated in the description of the item are excluded from our returns facility unless this is agreed with us prior to the purchase.
Any item with an 'X' at the end of the product code is a specially ordered item and may be subject to restrictions. Please contact us prior to purchase to check the status of any of these types of orders.

COMPLAINTS
We hope you won't have cause to complain about our service or our products, but if you do you may direct all complaints about purchases from this website or from any of our high street stores to our customer services department at the address or phone number given below.
You should include full details about the nature of your complaint as well as where you made your purchase, your receipt number, the date of the purchase, what method of payment was used and any other information you may feel will help us to resolve the matter quickly. Please make sure we also have a daytime telephone number or valid email address to speed up our response.
All complaints will be dealt with promptly and will be responded to within 5 working days.
We reserve the right to change any part of these terms and conditions at any time without notice.
